Let’s raise a glass to an incredible and successful 2024!
Dear Supporters,
Please join us in empowering the young people of Zambia to pursue brighter futures and avoid turning to poaching their country’s iconic wildlife. Without access to education, individuals in remote villages often have no choice but to rely on subsistence farming or hunting the very animals that attract visitors from around the world. At Africa Hope Fund, we are committed to changing this narrative. Through education, we not only provide alternatives but also inspire hope and opportunity for those who may not have had access to such resources.
Our reading centers and libraries in Zambia are at the heart of our mission—advancing conservation through education while transforming lives. These centers currently serve over 2,000 children each day, but we need your help to expand their reach and impact even further. Together, we can make a difference.
Warm regards,
Carol Van Bruggen

How Africa Hope Fund Changed Lives in 2024
Thanks to the incredible dedication of our board members and donors, Africa Hope Fund achieved remarkable milestones in 2024:
Formed a valuable partnership with Project Luangwa, which now operates and manages five literacy centers and libraries in Zambia's South Luangwa Valley. These centers serve over 2,000 children daily, helping them learn English—a requirement starting in grade 5.
Established a sixth literacy center, made possible through the generous support and funding from Point West Rotary in Sacramento. this center is now led by one of our longtime reading assistants, further expanding educational opportunities.
Funded the drilling of two new wells in remote areas of the valley, providing clean water to hundreds of people who previously walked miles daily to access drinking water.
Supported Conservation South Luangwa, who works tirelessly to rescue animals from poachers' snares and protect wildlife. The number of animals saved from these cruel traps is countless.
Secured sponsors for five graduating seniors to attend college—many of whom grew up in mud or cinderblock homes and are the first in their families to reach grade 12, let alone pursue higher education.
These accomplishments have profoundly impacted the lives of individuals and communities in Zambia. Education here is a precious gift, offering not only a path to a better life but also fostering an understanding of the value of natural resources and wildlife.
Looking Ahead: Big Plans for the Future
For over 17 years, Africa Hope Fund has worked tirelessly to provide opportunities for this incredible community and country. We are deeply grateful for every donation—no matter how small—that helps us continue this important work.
Looking forward, we aim to:
Build more literacy centers, as they have proven transformative for students’ lives. Schools hosting these centers consistently rank among the top 10 out of 55 schools in their district.
Raise additional funds for our conservation partners, who not only rescue animals and apprehend poachers but also educate communities about the economic value of preserving wildlife.
Your support means everything to us—and to the people and wildlife whose lives you help change every day. Together, we are creating a brighter future for Zambia’s young people and its iconic wildlife. Thank you for standing with us on this journey!
Sincerely,
The Africa Hope Fund team
