For over 15 years, Africa Hope Fund has been committed to creating lasting change in Zambia’s South Luangwa Valley. By partnering with local organizations, we address some of the region’s most critical challenges—providing education, protecting endangered wildlife, and fostering sustainable development. Our work bridges the gap between conservation and community needs, ensuring that both people and wildlife can thrive.

One of our most impactful initiatives is the Literacy for Life program, which empowers children through education. In Zambia, students must transition from learning in their native language, Nyanja, to English starting in Grade 4—a shift that often causes many to drop out of school. To tackle this issue, we’ve trained and hired 22 local reading assistants who now teach over 2,300 children daily to read, write, and speak English. These essential skills open doors to academic success and brighter futures.

Our six literacy centers, established at remote village schools, are equipped with books and teaching aids provided by Africa Hope Fund. These centers not only help children stay in school but also inspire a love for learning. The impact is profound: hundreds of children are continuing their education, with many advancing to higher levels and breaking the cycle of poverty for themselves and their families.
