BOARD OF TRUSTEE member
The mission of the Africa Hope Fund is to promote wildlife conservation in Southern Africa by supporting organizations on the ground that are dedicated to anti-poaching efforts, conservation education for children, wildlife damage mitigation, and continued education for local children to ensure their economic futures.
This is an extraordinary opportunity for an individual who is passionate about AHF’s mission and who is excited about making a tangible difference in our world.
Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:
• Professional and executive leadership experience in business, government, philanthropy, or the nonprofit sector.
• A commitment to and understanding of AHF’s mission, the organizations we support, and the valuable work these organizations do.
• A natural affinity for cultivating relationships and encouraging potential donors and volunteers to support our work.
• Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a passion for improving the lives of the people of Zambia and supporting conservation efforts in southern Africa.
Fundraising
AHF Board Members will consider AHF a philanthropic priority and make annual gifts that reflect that priority, commensurate with their capacity and ability. Board Members are also expected to participate in our fundraising efforts which include planning campaigns, finding sponsors for events, selling raffle tickets, and promoting our fund drives through personal and professional networks.
Board terms/Participation
AHF’s Board Members will serve a three-year term and are eligible for re-appointment for two additional terms.
Service on AHF’s Board of Directors is without remuneration, except for administrative support, travel, and accommodation costs in relation to Board Members’ duties. We meet every other month normally but have meetings more often just prior to our semi-annual fundraiser and raffle on alternating years. Board members may attend these meetings via phone.
