We maintain continuous partnerships with local conservation organizations in Zambia, working closely to enhance our collective impact. Hear what they have to say about our work!
Africa Hope Fund (AHF) have been a staunch supporter of Conservation South Luangwa for over a decade. Their support has ranged from providing financial assistance to keep our critical anti-poaching and conservation activities going including our detection dog unit, scout patrols, de-snaring activities, and human wildlife conflict mitigation support. In addition, Africa Hope Fund continues to facilitate our US donations, generously allowing us to use their platform to receive tax deductible donations via the US and creating and hosting our online fundraising campaigns, hosting our website and many more behind the scenes activities. AHF President and CEO Carol Van Bruggen sits on the Board of CSL as Treasurer, regularly providing valuable advice and direction to CSL.

Africa Hope Fund has had a huge impact in South Luangwa, not just in conservation, but also in supporting disadvantaged children through education. Africa Hope Fund has directly helped Project Luangwa through funding school developments, digital education initiatives and recently by paying for a large scale reading program, seeing upwards of 4,000 children every month.

Conservation Lower Zambezi (CLZ) is a non-profit organization committed to the protection of wildlife and the sustainable use of natural resources in the Lower Zambezi in Zambia. CLZ have been working in partnership with AHF since 2017, and we have benefitted greatly through their support, namely through; successful fundraising events and assistance with grant applications. The AHF online donation platform allows international donations and for U.S. donors to easily donate towards our projects which are tax deductible. AHF have supported crowdfunding causes for CLZ, and they provide access to their Section 501C status for US grants that we apply for. They also provide volunteers with useful skills to transfer knowledge to our staff and CLZ’s education programme. CLZ greatly appreciate the support AHF have shown us over the years, they have been instrumental in us reaching the U.S. audience for funding opportunities.

The Africa Hope Fund is one of Chipembele's most enduring and dedicated supporting organizations. Over the years they have sponsored a large number of children through school and university, many of whom have progressed to take up key careers in conservation, and have provided critical funds for its conservation education programmes. However, what puts the Africa Hope Fund head and shoulders above other organizations is their extended trips to the area at least once a year, the genuine interest they show in the projects they visit and the pragmatic support they provide. When Chipembele needed a new finance system, they not only paid for the system, they sent a professional from the USA to train the Chipembele staff who would be using it and provided long-term support in its application. The founders, Carol and Steve, have dedicated their lives to supporting NGOs in Zambia that work to conserve wildlife and that help educate, uplift and empower rural communities that live alongside them, which is exactly in line with Chipembele's mission and goals. They truly get to understand the NGOs they support, the challenges they face, the achievements they make and their most pressing needs. Their passion, integrity and enthusiasm is infectious and spreads not only to their staff and supporters but to the very NGOs they champion.

Makolekole Foundation works to bring clean, safe water to the communities of the Luangwa Valley. We focus particularly on areas where human/wildlife conflict is a problem. Conservation of our wildlife and habitat can only succeed with the collaboration and support of the communities in the Valley. The first step to building relationships can be the provision of a source of clean, safe and convenient water to the village. Africa Hope Fund has helped to drill five community boreholes over the years, bringing life giving water to over 1,000 residents. Since 2015, Makolekole has drilled 300 boreholes in the Luangwa Valley - water for over 60,000. Our aim is to reach the grand total of 500 - this will go a long way to solving the water challenges of our communities. Makolekole Foundation is run by Adrian Carr (Chair of CSL) and Christina Carr (Chipembele Trustee). AFH is universally appreciated as an integral part of the collaborative set of conservation and community organisations of the Luangwa Valley. We all work closely together to preserve the unique biodiversity of the Valley and ensure our communities both benefit from and appreciate this last great wilderness.

Africa Hope Fund (AHF) has played a crucial role in addressing both immediate conservation needs and contributing to the long-term well-being and development of the local community in Zambia. The alignment of their initiatives with the four pillars of the Zambian Carnivore Programme (ZCP) - conservation science, conservation action, coexistence, and empowering local leadership - demonstrates a comprehensive and integrated approach to wildlife conservation. This collaborative partnership between AHF and ZCP is reflected in their long-term support of our outreach and community engagement, conservation leadership training, human-carnivore coexistence, operations, and communications.
