Why is the African Elephant Endangered?
You Can Help Save Elephants

  • Africa Hope Fund is committed to Funding local scouting patrols who find and arrest poachers, locate snares, and rescue animals caught in snares.

  • Conservation education programs and classes for local children, several of whom now have careers in wildlife conservation.

African elephants are key to preserving ecosystems and economies In our world but they are now endangered.

Because of hunting and poaching, their numbers have been decimated by 20% in the past 10 years.  WWF says African elephants will be extinct by 2040 if we don’t act right away.  It is estimated 55 elephants are poached each day in Africa.

We support organizations in Zambia that catch and stop poachers and support programs to protect elephants and other wildlife.

Just a few of our projects have been

  • Supporting Scout patrols into the national park
    $1000 per scout per year

  • Support  training & care of Detection dogs
    $5000 per dog & handler

  • Supply Scout Kits for Scouts used while on patrol
    $200 per scout

Because of these organizations, the poaching numbers between 2018 and 2020 in the Luangwa Valley of Zambia have decreased.  These are a direct result of Conservation South Luangwa’s collaborative efforts with the Department of Parks and Wildlife  (DNPW) of the government of Zambia including anti-poaching and human-wildlife conflict programs.

In the Lower Zambezi Zambia National Park and game management areas we also saw very large drop in poaching In the last 5 years. 2020 was the lowest level they have ever recorded in the park and this is also a direct result of the work of Conservation Lower Zambezi. Help us support these amazing hard-working organizations.
